A repository view is the fundamental presentation of the contents of a repository to users. Repository views are listed on the Welcome page of a Meridian Explorer site for users to select and begin working with documents and object tags.
A repository may have any number of views. Each view can be one of the following types:
Views are created in a related group of all of the preceding view types. That is, when you create a view of one type, Configurator creates views of the other types at the same time that work together with the view that you created. If you do not need all of the views, you can delete or clear them as described elsewhere in this guide.
Each view includes one or more layouts for repository navigation:
Each view can use some or all of these layouts. Each view group has a default navigation layout. And each view can be restricted for use by specific user groups.
Note When multiple repositories exist on the same server, the website will list the views of all repositories.
To create a new view:

Enabled |
Makes the view visible and selectable by users. clear the unnecessary views in a view group to hide them from users. |
Caption |
The name of the view as seen by users. |
Group |
The available view names are grouped together by this name on the Home page of the site. Type the same name in this option for each view that you want shown in the same group. Tip The same group name can be used by multiple repositories to group all of the related views together. Conversely, to group all of the views for a specific repository together, use the same group name, preferably that includes the repository name for easier identification. |
View ID |
The read-only internal name of the view. |
Enable preview |
Shows property page tabs in the detail pane of the repository view. Users may click these tabs to preview properties without having to open the detail page of an item. |
Display redlines |
Shows redlines in the viewer pane that were synchronized from the source vault or that have been added by Meridian Explorer users. Available only for document views. |
Allow redline editing |
Permits Meridian Explorer users to edit redlines. Available only for document views. |
Display hotspots |
Shows hotspots in the viewer pane that were synchronized from the source vault. Available only for document views. |
Show Renditions Only |
Shows the read-only renditions of documents, not the native content. Available only for document views. |
Allow Draft Print |
Permits Meridian Explorer users to print draft hardcopies. Available only for document views. For more information about draft printing, see the BlueCielo Meridian Explorer User's Guide. |
Project Scope |
Limits the objects shown in the view to a specified project folder. Click the Select Project button ![]() ![]() |
Filter |
Select a filter from the list that will determine the items that are shown by this view. Required. For information about creating filters, see Creating and editing object filters. |
